BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 (2022 spec)- a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers what the content for A2.Cultural and the second half the A2.Social Factors If you are following my SoW 2024-2025, this is Week 11, this now relates to PSA Task 2. There are homework tasks for both Level 1 and Level 2 which are adaptable to suit your need eg.date There is an activity to summarise learning and two task using the PEE exam answering technique to support the application of a case study to a cultural factor case study situation. There is a 32 slide PIES development presentation which is applied to the spec range of cultural factors. There are several activities within the presentation to keep students engaged and pause points for contributions. The activities summarise points that will be easier to refer to in their PSA in January. With this in mind the homework tasks for both level 1 and level 2 students will build up understanding and again give students their own work/notes which can be with them when they are in their controlled assessment hours for Task 2. This package is for teachers delivering the new 2022 spec for BTEC Tech Award in Health and Social Care Component 2. For teachers following my SoW, this is for week 25 after the completion of Component 1. It has two presentations, one is 17 slides and is an introduction into the differences between health and social care services. Social care is included as the PSA case study will face barriers which need overcoming with support which may be social care based. This will be built on the following week where primary, secondary and tertiary services are explained. The second is 27 slides and gives opportunities for paired/group or whole class discussions so students can make their notes on activity work sheets in their own words. These will be a source of reference in the PSA. Students will be expected to know the eleven different health conditions listed below and have an understanding of PIES needs for each as a stepping stone for looking at the provision for meeting their health needs with services. Included is homework for both Levels 1 and 2. For teachers following my SoW, this is for week 28 after the completion of Component 1. It has two presentations, one is 24 slides and covers physical barriers and ways to overcome those as per PSA Task 3, with applied examples. The second is 23 slides and covers Sensory Barriers. There is guidance and options for students note taking which will be a source of reference in the PSA. Students will be expected to know a range of potential barriers but the focus is on physical and sensory in the spec below and be able to recognise which barrier(s)apply and the most suitable ways to overcome these, for the PSA case study person with a health condition or social care circumstances. Throughout there is reference to different services from A2. Included is a mock exam to give a guided opportunity to have a go at task 1. Homework is set as the case studies they do not cover in the lesson so they have the full range from the spec. BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 - a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers all that is needed for the life stage Middle Adulthood (46-64 years-olds) If you are following my SoW 2024-2025 this is Week 6, there is less in the content delivery so this week is an opportunity to start preparing students for their PSA Task 1. There are activities and worksheets to work on independently and homework for both Level 1 and Level 2. All the spec content for Middle Adulthood is included in one presentation with 40 slides which have animation so text is delivered in chunks. This is a resource package for teaching the New BTEC HSC Level 3, Unit 1 Human Growth &Development through Life Stages, A3 Emotional Development and covers all that’s on the spec. This is a package for teaching the Unit 5 A1, A2 and A3 part of the spec. It consists of a Microsoft Word 32 booklet which you can add and alter to suit your teaching style. Students can make notes, complete research task and activities and have all these together as reference for when they write up their course work. There are 9 PowerPoints to ensure interactive interesting teaching and embedded videos to bring reality into the classroom too. This booklet refers to the case studies update from November 2018. This resources covers the below areas:- A1 Promoting equality, diversity and preventing discrimination • Definition of equality, diversity and discrimination. • Importance of preventing discrimination. • Initiatives aimed at preventing discrimination in care, e.g. the use of advocacy services. BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 (2022 spec)- a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers what the content for B1. Life Events; Health & Wellbeing and B2. Support that goes with the life events and the characteristic trait self-esteem and outlook If you are following my SoW 2024-2025, this is Week 14, this now relates to PSA Task 3a (Life Event PIES) and 3b (Support) . There are homework tasks for both Level 1 and Level 2 which are adaptable to suit your need eg.date There are activities aimed at building up student notes to have with them in the PSA and capture understanding and can be referred to whilst students complete the PSA Controlled Assessment. There is the continued literacy support with useful vocabulary, again and a case study example PIES. There’s a 39 slide presentation introducing life events to get students thinking to start with. All the spec content relates to Life Event impacting on a person experiencing a point from the Health & Wellbeing category and suitable support. There is also points that guides students to considers personality impacting on coping strategies. This detail is included in the 40 slide presentation which has pause points for student contribution and breaks to complete their notes table which they can refer to in the actual PSA. There is homework worksheets for both Level 1 and Level 2 learners. The content covered is:- Health and wellbeing: • accident/injury • physical illness • mental and emotional health and wellbeing The character traits that influence how individuals cope: • resilience • self-esteem • emotional intelligence • disposition – a person’s character traits, e.g. positive, negative Formal GP support as well as family support to cope with the life events. All the resources are in a format you can adapt to suit your need.
